Council meeting was conducted on 26/2/2026 in the City hall & so many important matters were discussed and approved for the betterment of our City and these were;

A report about the visit to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda was presented which had a number of commitments from the President like Mbarara City to get Industrial park,provision of solar powered equipment in markets, construction of new markets beginning with Nyamityobora market, Construction of priority bridges like Katete, Kanyeite and Taso, construction of an international airport at Nyakisharara, securing all public land urgently especially in Kyarwabuganda, compensation of landlords for the late Bananuka in North & Baketunga in South estates & provide land titles to the residents, Kakyeka land to revert to Mbarara City,to relocate the garbage dump site out of the City among others.

Town Order: All street vendors have been given a period of two weeks to vacate & occupy the available markets among many others.
